Synopsis – What to Expect from “Takedown”
Takedown is a 2000 American crime thriller film directed by Joe Chappelle and starring Skeet Ulrich, Russell Wong, and Angela Featherstone. The plot follows a young computer hacker, Kevin Mitnick (Ulrich), who is pursued by the FBI for breaking into various computer systems.
The film begins with a brief introduction to Kevin Mitnick (Ulrich), a brilliant computer hacker who has become a fugitive from the FBI. After breaking into various computer systems, Kevin is tracked down by FBI agent Tsutomu Shimomura (Wong). Shimomura is determined to bring Kevin to justice and teams up with agent-in-charge Jack Bannister (Featherstone) to capture him.
The FBI agents use a variety of tactics to try to capture Kevin, including wiretapping his phone, tracking his movements, and even planting a tracking device on his car. However, Kevin is always one step ahead of the FBI. He is able to outwit them at every turn and continues to evade capture.
Eventually, the FBI agents are able to corner Kevin and arrest him. However, Kevin is able to make a deal with the FBI to avoid jail time and instead work with them to help them track down other computer criminals.
The film ends with Kevin being pardoned by the President of the United States and being released from prison. He is now a respected computer security expert and is able to use his skills to protect computer systems from
