Synopsis/Plot
Table 19 is a 2017 American comedy-drama film directed by Jeffrey Blitz and written by Jay and Mark Duplass. The film stars Anna Kendrick, Craig Robinson, June Squibb, Lisa Kudrow, Stephen Merchant, Tony Revolori, and Wyatt Russell.
The story follows Eloise (Kendrick), a young woman who was recently dumped by her boyfriend for her maid of honor. She decides to attend her best friend’s wedding anyway, seated at the titular “Table 19” in the back of the reception hall. She is joined at the table by a motley crew of strangers, all of whom were unceremoniously relegated to the same table due to their lack of importance to the bride and groom. Together they form an unlikely bond as they share stories and experiences, and ultimately learn to accept and embrace life’s imperfections.
The film is a poignant and humorous exploration of the human condition, as Eloise and her fellow tablemates discover that they are not alone in their struggles and that sometimes the most unexpected connections can lead to friendship and even love. Along the way, they learn to accept themselves and each other, and to take the good with the bad.
