Synopsis – What to Expect from “Switch”
Switch is an American romantic comedy film released in 1991 and directed by Blake Edwards. It stars Ellen Barkin, Jimmy Smits, JoBeth Williams, and John Glover.
The movie follows the story of Steve Brooks (Jimmy Smits), a successful advertising executive and confirmed bachelor, who is looking for the perfect woman. He meets the beautiful and mysterious Amanda Brooks (Ellen Barkin), who seems to be the woman of his dreams. Steve soon discovers that Amanda is actually a con artist and a witch, who is using her magic to seduce him and take his money.
When Steve finds out the truth, he is determined to get his revenge on Amanda. He turns to his best friend, Walter (John Glover), who is a sorcerer, for help. Walter casts a spell to switch Steve and Amanda’s bodies, so that Steve can experience what it’s like to be a woman.
In Amanda’s body, Steve discovers that Amanda has been using her powers to seduce men and take their money. He also discovers that Amanda is in danger from a mysterious man who is trying to kill her. Steve must find a way to switch back into his own body and protect Amanda from the mysterious killer.
Meanwhile, Amanda in Steve’s body must deal with the consequences of her actions and learn to accept responsibility for her life. She also discovers that Steve is not the shallow man she thought he was, and the two begin to fall in love.
