Synopsis/Plot
Super is a dark comedy-drama film that follows the story of Frank D’Arbo, an average Joe who, after his wife Sarah leaves him for a drug dealer, finds himself in a deep depression. In order to win her back, Frank embarks on a mission to become a superhero. After a chance encounter with a homeless drug addict, Frank is inspired to create a superhero persona known as ‘The Crimson Bolt’. Armed with a wrench, a costume, and a homemade mask, Frank sets out to rid the city of crime and corruption.
Frank’s vigilante justice soon attracts the attention of a comic book store clerk named Libby, who decides to become his sidekick, Boltie. Together, they take on the city’s criminal underworld, facing off against drug dealers and other ne’er-do-wells. Along the way, they discover a powerful crime lord known as Jacques, and must battle him and his minions in order to save the city.
As Frank and Libby continue their mission, they discover that they have more in common than they thought. Despite their differences, they must work together to defeat the forces of evil and ultimately, win back Sarah.
