Synopsis/Plot
Summer in February is a romantic drama set in the early 20th century, based on the novel of the same name by Jonathan Smith. The film follows the story of Alfred Munnings, an aspiring painter who moves to the small fishing village of Lamorna in Cornwall, England, seeking inspiration and a fresh start.
At Lamorna, Alfred meets Florence Carter-Wood, a beautiful and independent young woman who is determined to make a living for herself as an artist. Despite their initially rocky start, Alfred and Florence quickly fall in love and begin a passionate affair. However, their relationship is threatened by the arrival of Gilbert Evans, a wealthy landowner who is determined to win Florence’s affections.
The film follows Alfred and Florence’s tumultuous love story as they struggle to find happiness amidst the constraints of society and the conflicting desires of their hearts. As the summer progresses, Alfred and Florence’s relationship is further complicated by the arrival of Florence’s fiance, the dashing Captain Archie, and the jealous Gilbert.
Ultimately, Summer in February is a heart-wrenching story of love, loss, and the power of art, set against the backdrop of the stunning Cornish coast. With its beautiful cinematography,
