Synopsis/Plot
Strangers on a Train is a classic 1951 psychological thriller film directed by Alfred Hitchcock. The film stars Farley Granger as Guy Haines, a tennis player who is trying to resolve a personal problem with his estranged wife by divorcing her. He meets a charming, but dangerous, stranger named Bruno Anthony (Robert Walker) on a train. Bruno proposes an unusual and sinister plan: he will murder Guy’s wife if Guy will murder Bruno’s father. Guy is appalled, but can’t help but be intrigued by the idea.
The two men part ways, but soon after, Guy’s wife is murdered. As the police investigate, Guy realizes that Bruno has made good on his promise and is now trying to frame him for the crime. Desperate to prove his innocence, Guy is forced to take matters into his own hands and set a deadly trap for Bruno.
The film is full of suspense and tension as Guy and Bruno become locked in a deadly game of cat and mouse.
