Synopsis/Plot
Stop! Or My Mom Will Shoot is a 1992 comedy film starring Sylvester Stallone and Estelle Getty. The film follows the story of an LA cop, Joe Bomowski (Stallone), who is struggling to keep his career afloat. When his mother, Tutti (Getty), comes to visit, Joe finds his life thrown into chaos as she meddles in his work and personal life.
When Tutti discovers Joe’s partner, Al (JoBeth Williams), is involved in a case involving a stolen police car, she decides to help Joe investigate. With her meddling, Joe and Al soon find themselves in hot water with their superiors. Meanwhile, Joe’s girlfriend, Sylvia (Gloria Stuart), is frustrated with Joe’s lack of attention and decides to move out.
To make matters worse, Tutti discovers a gun in Joe’s apartment and decides to take it upon herself to solve the case. After a series of misadventures, Tutti and Joe eventually catch the criminals and Joe finds himself in the good graces of his superiors. Joe also reconciles with Sylvia and the two decide to move in together.
