Synopsis – What to Expect from “Stone”
Stone is a 2010 crime drama starring Robert De Niro, Edward Norton, and Milla Jovovich. It tells the story of Jack Mabry (De Niro), a parole officer nearing retirement who is assigned to the case of Gerald “Stone” Creeson (Norton), a convicted arsonist. Stone is up for early release and is using every trick in the book to get it, including manipulating Jack and his wife, Lucetta (Jovovich).
Jack soon finds himself in an ethical dilemma as he begins to question the morality of his job and his relationship with Stone. As he begins to dig deeper into Stone’s past, he discovers that the convict may be hiding a dangerous secret. With the help of his wife, Jack must decide whether to grant Stone parole, or risk his own life to expose the truth.
The film follows Jack’s journey as he navigates the dangerous waters of the criminal justice system and his own conscience. As Jack unravels the truth behind Stone’s crime, he discovers that Stone’s motivations are much more complex than he ever imagined. The film culminates in a dramatic showdown between Jack and Stone, as Jack must decide whether to grant Stone parole or face the consequences of his actions.
