Synopsis/Plot

Staying Alive is a 1983 musical drama film directed by Sylvester Stallone and written by Stallone and Norman Wexler. It is the sequel to the 1977 film Saturday Night Fever and stars John Travolta as Tony Manero, a young dancer from Brooklyn who is struggling to make it as a professional dancer in New York City.

The film follows Manero as he moves to the city to pursue his dream of becoming a professional dancer. He soon falls into the underground world of dance clubs and finds himself in competition with other talented dancers. He meets a young dancer named Jackie (Cynthia Rhodes) and the two become close. With Jackie’s help, Tony is able to make it to the top of the dance competition and win the grand prize.

The film features a number of popular songs from the 1980s, including Frankie Valli’s “Stayin’ Alive” and the Bee Gees’ “Night Fever”. The soundtrack also includes other classic hits such as “She Works Hard for the Money” by Donna Summer and “Let’s Hear It for the Boy” by Deniece Williams.

Staying Alive is a classic dance movie that follows Tony Manero as he pursues his dream
