Synopsis/Plot
Stay is a psychological thriller directed by Marc Forster and starring Ewan McGregor, Naomi Watts, Ryan Gosling, and Bob Hoskins. It follows the story of Sam Foster, a psychiatrist who is tasked with keeping a suicidal patient, Henry Letham, alive for the next three days. Sam is forced to delve into Henry’s mind and confront his own demons in order to save him.
The film opens with Sam Foster, a psychiatrist, being asked to take on a new patient, Henry Letham. Henry is a troubled young man who has attempted suicide multiple times and is determined to end his life. Sam is tasked with keeping Henry alive for the next three days, a challenge that will push him to his limits.
As Sam delves into Henry’s mind, he begins to uncover secrets about his patient’s past. He discovers that Henry is haunted by memories of a traumatic event that occurred when he was a child. Sam is forced to confront his own demons as he tries to help Henry confront his.
Meanwhile, Sam’s relationship with his girlfriend, Lila, is strained as he struggles to keep his patient alive. Henry’s behavior becomes increasingly erratic and violent, leading Sam to question his own sanity.
