Synopsis – What to Expect from “Staten Island Summer”
Staten Island Summer is a 2015 coming-of-age comedy set in the summer of 1987. The film follows Danny and Frank, two best friends who are about to graduate high school and enter the real world.
The movie opens with Danny and Frank spending their last summer before college working as lifeguards at a local pool. They are joined by their friends, including Danny’s crush, Lindsey, and the wild and unpredictable Bobby. As the summer progresses, Danny and Frank become increasingly aware of the realities of adulthood, while still trying to make the most of their last summer together.
Danny and Frank take on a number of odd jobs to make money, including working as a caterer for a wealthy family’s party. Bobby takes them to a party at a local mansion, and the boys end up getting into some trouble. Danny and Lindsey’s relationship grows, but they both struggle to find the courage to take it to the next level.
Meanwhile, Frank’s dad is struggling to make ends meet and is considering selling the family’s house in order to pay the bills. Frank is determined to find a way to save the house, and he hatches a plan to hold a massive party at the pool and charge admission.
The party is a huge success, and the boys make enough money to save the house. As the summer comes to an end, Danny and Lindsey finally admit their feelings for each other, while Frank comes to terms with the
