Synopsis/Plot
Stargate: The Ark of Truth is a 2008 science fiction action-adventure film directed by Robert C. Cooper and written by Cooper and Carl Binder. It is the first in a two-film story arc, with Stargate: Continuum released in 2008. The film is the conclusion of the Ori story arc.
The film follows SG-1 and their allies as they search for an ancient artifact known as the Ark of Truth in order to finally defeat the oppressive Ori. The Ark of Truth is the only thing that can stop the Ori from their religious crusade to convert the entire universe to Origin, their own religion. SG-1 must travel to distant galaxies and battle the Ori’s powerful forces in order to find the Ark of Truth and save the universe from their tyranny.
The film features the return of Richard Dean Anderson as Colonel Jack O’Neill and the rest of the original SG-1 cast. The film also features the return of Ben Browder as Lt. Colonel Cameron Mitchell and the introduction of Amanda Tapping as Dr. Elizabeth Weir.
