Synopsis – What to Expect from “Standoff”
The movie ‘Standoff’ follows Carter (Laurence Fishburne), a former Marine Corps sniper who is now living a secluded life in the woods. He is unexpectedly confronted by a twelve-year-old girl named Emily (Thomas Jane) who has run away from home. Emily is being pursued by a violent gang of drug traffickers led by a man named Stavros (Johnathon Schaech).
Carter reluctantly agrees to protect Emily from the gang and takes her to his isolated cabin in the woods. The two form a strong bond as Carter teaches Emily how to survive in the wilderness and they come to rely on each other for protection.
Meanwhile, Stavros and his gang are relentless in their pursuit of the girl and they eventually track her down to Carter’s cabin. Carter and Emily are forced to flee, but Stavros and his gang are hot on their trail.
The chase leads them through the woods, across the countryside, and into a small town. Carter and Emily must use all of their survival skills to stay one step ahead of Stavros and his men.
But when Stavros finally catches up with them, Carter is forced into a deadly standoff. With his back against the wall, Carter must rely on his skills as a Marine sniper to protect Emily and keep her safe from the gang.
