Synopsis/Plot
Stand Up Guys is a crime-comedy film released in 2012, starring Al Pacino, Christopher Walken, and Alan Arkin.
The story follows Val (Al Pacino), a former gangster who is released from prison after serving a 28-year sentence. He is picked up by his old friend, Doc (Christopher Walken), who tells him his former boss, Claphands (Alan Arkin), has requested his presence. Val soon discovers that Claphands has hired Doc to kill him, as part of a deal he made with the mob.
Val and Doc then embark on a wild night of adventure, as they try to evade Claphands’ henchmen and find a way to survive. Along the way, they pick up a young punk named Hirsch (Josh Peck), who joins them in their misadventures.
The trio’s night of fun soon turns into a battle for survival as they face off against the mob and try to stay one step ahead. They also must confront their own demons and grapple with the consequences of their past decisions.
With its stellar cast and darkly humorous take on the crime genre, Stand Up Guys is a thrilling and entertaining ride.
