Synopsis – What to Expect from “Stagecoach”
Stagecoach is a 1986 American western film directed by Ted Kotcheff and starring Willie Nelson, Kris Kristofferson, Johnny Cash, Waylon Jennings, and June Carter Cash.
The film follows the journey of a group of strangers on a stagecoach from Tonto, Arizona to Lordsburg, New Mexico. The passengers include a drunken doctor, a prostitute, a gambler, a bank robber, and a cavalry officer. The stagecoach is also carrying a strongbox containing $80,000 in gold.
The stagecoach is attacked by Apaches, led by the chief’s son, who is seeking revenge for the death of his father. The passengers are forced to fight for their lives, and the cavalry officer is killed in the battle. The stagecoach is eventually able to escape, but the robbers have managed to steal the strongbox.
The stagecoach continues on its journey, and the passengers begin to form relationships with one another. The doctor and the prostitute become close, and the gambler and the bank robber form an unlikely friendship.
Meanwhile, the Apaches are still in pursuit of the stagecoach, and they eventually catch up with the group. In a desperate attempt to save the stagecoach, the passengers decide to take a shortcut through a dangerous mountain pass.
