Synopsis/Plot
St. Elmo’s Fire is a 1985 American coming-of-age comedy-drama film directed by Joel Schumacher and starring Emilio Estevez, Rob Lowe, Andrew McCarthy, Demi Moore, Judd Nelson, Ally Sheedy, and Mare Winningham.
The story follows a group of seven close friends who have recently graduated from Georgetown University and are struggling to adjust to adulthood. The group includes Alec (Estevez), a womanizing party animal; Kirby (Lowe), a struggling law student; Kevin (McCarthy), a romantic writer; Leslie (Moore), a career-minded yuppie; Billy (Nelson), an alcoholic musician; Jules (Sheedy), a shy virgin; and Wendy (Winningham), a pregnant housewife.
As the group navigates their way through the complexities of life, they must deal with issues such as career ambitions, drug abuse, and unrequited love. Through their struggles, the friends learn to support and rely on each other, and ultimately come to terms with their own individual identities.
