Synopsis – What to Expect from “Spielberg”

Spielberg is a 2017 documentary about the life and career of legendary filmmaker Steven Spielberg. Directed by Susan Lacy, the film chronicles Spielberg’s life from his childhood in Arizona to his rise as one of the most influential filmmakers of all time. The film features interviews with Spielberg’s family, friends, and colleagues, as well as archival footage and behind-the-scenes clips from his most iconic films.

The documentary begins with a look at Spielberg’s childhood, discussing his early love of movies and his first attempts at filmmaking. We then follow Spielberg’s career as he moves from television to the big screen, creating a string of classic films such as Jaws, Close Encounters of the Third Kind, E.T. The Extra-Terrestrial, and Jurassic Park. Along the way, we hear from those who worked with Spielberg, such as composer John Williams, actor Tom Hanks, and director George Lucas.

The documentary also examines Spielberg’s personal life, including his marriages and his relationship with his children. As the film progresses, we learn about Spielberg’s philanthropy, his passion for history, and his commitment to making films that are both entertaining and thought-provoking.

The film culminates with a look at Spielberg’s most recent works, including Lincoln, Bridge of Spies, and The BFG. As the credits roll, we are left with a greater appreciation for Spielberg’s immense talent and the legacy that he has created.
