Synopsis/Plot
Spell is a 2020 supernatural horror film directed by Mark Tonderai and starring Omari Hardwick, Loretta Devine, Lorraine Burroughs, and John Beasley.
The film follows Marquis (Omari Hardwick), a man who is forced to take a job as a cargo pilot for a mysterious company in order to save his ailing wife. During a flight to a remote location, Marquis and his co-pilot, Jimmy (John Beasley), encounter a powerful storm that sends them off-course and into the path of an ancient voodoo curse.
Marquis soon finds himself battling the spirit of a powerful witch doctor, Papa Jah (Lorraine Burroughs), who is determined to use her dark magic to possess him and take control of his soul. With the help of his wife, Rose (Loretta Devine), and the mysterious voodoo priestess, Mama Nettie (Loretta Devine), Marquis must find a way to break the curse and save himself and his family from a fate worse than death.
