Synopsis/Plot
Spanglish is a 2004 romantic comedy-drama directed by James L. Brooks and starring Adam Sandler, Téa Leoni, Paz Vega, and Cloris Leachman. The film follows Flor Moreno, a Mexican immigrant single mother who moves to Los Angeles with her daughter, Cristina, in search of a better life. Flor takes a job as a housekeeper for a wealthy family, the Claskys, and soon finds herself in a complicated situation when she develops a strong bond with the family.
John Clasky, an executive chef, and Deborah Clasky, a stay-at-home mom, are a married couple struggling to keep their marriage alive. When Flor and her daughter move in, they bring a different culture and language into the house, which creates tension between the Claskys and their two children. As Flor and the Claskys become closer, they learn to understand and appreciate each other’s cultures, and Flor’s daughter Cristina helps bridge the gap between them.
