Synopsis/Plot
Song of the South is a 1946 American live-action/animated musical film produced by Walt Disney and released by RKO Radio Pictures. The film takes place in the southern United States during the Reconstruction Era, a period of American history after the Civil War.
The film tells the story of a young boy named Johnny, who is sent to live with his grandmother on a plantation in the rural south. Johnny befriends Uncle Remus, an elderly former slave, who regales him with stories of the adventures of Brer Rabbit, Brer Fox, and Brer Bear. Through these stories, Uncle Remus teaches Johnny the importance of wisdom and perseverance in the face of adversity.
