Synopsis/Plot
Son of the Mask is a 2005 fantasy comedy film directed by Lawrence Guterman, starring Jamie Kennedy, Alan Cumming, and Traylor Howard. The movie is a sequel to the 1994 film The Mask, starring Jim Carrey.
The film follows Tim Avery, an aspiring cartoonist from Fringe City, who is living a mundane life with his wife, Tonya, and their infant son, Alvey. One day, Tim finds a mysterious mask which grants him immense powers, similar to those of the Mask from the first film. With his newfound abilities, Tim is able to create amazing cartoons and become a successful animator.
However, the mask also has a dark side, and it starts to corrupt Tim, turning him into a wild and reckless version of himself. Meanwhile, Loki, the Norse god of mischief, is determined to get the mask back and will do anything to get it.
When Alvey is born, he is also granted powers from the mask, which he uses to great effect, much to the dismay of Loki. With the help of his father, Alvey must find a way to defeat Loki and save the world.
