Synopsis – What to Expect from “Something Wicked This Way Comes”
Something Wicked This Way Comes is a 1983 fantasy-horror film directed by Jack Clayton and based on the 1962 novel of the same name by Ray Bradbury. The film stars Jason Robards, Jonathan Pryce, Diane Ladd, and Pam Grier.
The story follows two boys, Will Halloway (Vidal Peterson) and Jim Nightshade (Shawn Carson), who live in the small town of Green Town, Illinois. One day, a mysterious carnival called “Cooger & Dark’s Pandemonium Shadow Show” arrives in town, led by a mysterious figure known as “Mr. Dark” (Jonathan Pryce).
Mr. Dark and his carnival offer the townspeople a chance to fulfill their wildest dreams, but at a price. As the townspeople succumb to the carnival’s temptations, Will and Jim discover the true nature of the carnival and its sinister motives. With the help of Will’s father, Charles Halloway (Jason Robards), they must find a way to stop Mr. Dark and the carnival before it’s too late.
