Synopsis – What to Expect from “Some Kind of Beautiful”
Some Kind of Beautiful is a romantic comedy about a successful playboy professor, Richard Haig (Pierce Brosnan), who has a penchant for seducing younger women. When one of his former students, Kate (Jessica Alba), returns to England to work as an art dealer, Richard’s life is thrown into turmoil. Despite his best efforts to remain single, Richard is drawn to Kate and they soon begin a passionate love affair.
However, Richard’s life is further complicated when he discovers that Kate is actually his daughter from a previous relationship he had with an American woman, Olivia (Salma Hayek). Despite the initial shock of the revelation, Richard and Kate soon realize that they have a strong connection and decide to pursue a relationship.
The two face many obstacles along the way, including Richard’s ex-wife, Caroline (Minnie Driver), who is determined to win him back. Richard must also confront his own feelings of guilt over his past behavior and the fact that he is now in a relationship with his daughter.
In the end, Richard and Kate must decide if their love is strong enough to overcome the odds and the disapproval of their family and friends. With the help of their closest confidantes, they find the courage to take a chance on each other and embrace the kind of beautiful relationship they have found.
