Synopsis/Plot
Smokey and the Bandit is a classic 1977 American action comedy film starring Burt Reynolds, Sally Field and Jackie Gleason. The film follows the adventures of “The Bandit” (Reynolds), a truck driver who is hired to make a beer run from Texas to Georgia in 28 hours. Along the way, he is pursued by Sheriff Buford T. Justice (Gleason), who is determined to stop the Bandit and his accomplices.
The Bandit and his sidekick, Cledus Snow (Jerry Reed), enlist the help of Carrie (Field), a runaway bride, to help them on their mission. With the Sheriff hot on their heels, the trio must evade the law and make their way to their destination. Along the way, they encounter a number of obstacles, including a group of rednecks, a mechanical bull, and a group of nuns.
