Synopsis – What to Expect from “Slums of Beverly Hills”
Slums of Beverly Hills is a 1998 comedy-drama film about the lives of the members of a dysfunctional family living in an impoverished Jewish community in Beverly Hills. Vivian Abramowitz is a single mother raising her three children, 15-year-old Rivka, 18-year-old Elliot, and 14-year-old Molly. Vivian is a struggling waitress, and her family moves frequently, living in different motels within the slums of Beverly Hills.
The family is struggling to make ends meet, and Vivian is determined to give her children a better life. She enrolls them in a prestigious private school, even though they can’t afford the tuition. Vivian also tries to help her brother, Uncle Morty, who is a compulsive gambler and is always in debt.
