Synopsis/Plot

Sister Act 2: Back in the Habit is a 1993 American musical comedy film directed by Bill Duke. It is the sequel to the 1992 film Sister Act. The film stars Whoopi Goldberg as Deloris Van Cartier, a lounge singer who, after being placed in protective custody in a convent, masquerades as a nun and takes on a teaching position at a struggling Catholic school.

The film follows Van Cartier as she attempts to help the school’s music program by teaching the students to sing and perform. With the help of her fellow nuns, she is able to turn the school’s fortunes around and inspire the students to believe in themselves. Along the way, she also discovers her own hidden talents and learns to appreciate the importance of faith and family.

The film features a number of popular musical numbers, including renditions of “Joyful, Joyful,” “Oh Happy Day,” and “Ain’t No Mountain High Enough.” Sister Act 2: Back in the Habit also stars Kathy Najimy, Maggie Smith, Mary Wickes, and Lauryn Hill.
