The film begins with Sintel, a young girl, walking through a desolate landscape. She is searching for a lost dragon, a creature that she has grown to care deeply for. As she continues her journey, she encounters a variety of characters, including a mysterious old man and a shape-shifting creature.
The old man tells her stories of the past and gives her advice on her quest. The shape-shifting creature is a helpful companion, providing her with aid and protection as she continues her search.
Sintel eventually discovers the dragon, but finds that it is in danger. She must use her wits and courage to protect the dragon and reunite it with its family. Along the way, she learns a great deal about herself and the world around her.
