Synopsis – What to Expect from “Siberian Education”
Siberian Education is a 2013 Italian-Russian drama film directed by Gabriele Salvatores. It is a coming-of-age story set in the Siberian region of Russia during the post-Soviet era.
The film follows the story of Kolyma, a young boy from a small village in Siberia. He lives with his parents, grandparents, and his two brothers. Kolyma is a bright and curious child, but he is also a bit of a troublemaker. His parents are strict and traditional, but they love him and want the best for him.
Kolyma’s life changes when his parents decide to send him to a boarding school in a nearby city. At first, Kolyma is not happy with the idea of leaving his family and his home, but he soon realizes that the school offers him a chance to learn and grow. He befriends a group of older boys, and they become a tight-knit group.
