Synopsis/Plot
Shot Caller is a 2017 American crime thriller film that follows the story of Jacob Harlon, a successful stockbroker who is sent to prison for a DUI-related vehicular manslaughter. After being released, he finds himself drawn into a world of organized crime. In order to protect his family, he must now become a shot caller, a powerful figure in the prison system.
The movie starts with Jacob living a seemingly perfect life. He has a beautiful wife, a young son, and a thriving career as a stockbroker. But one night, a night of partying and drinking, results in a tragic accident that sends him to prison. Once inside, he quickly learns the harsh realities of life in the prison system. He is forced to confront the brutality of the gangs, the corruption of the guards, and the violence of the other inmates.
Jacob is determined to survive and protect his family. To do so, he must become a shot caller, a powerful figure in the prison system. He must learn to navigate the dangerous politics and alliances of the prison gangs and become a respected leader. He must also learn to protect himself and his family from the ruthless violence that comes with the territory.
