Synopsis – What to Expect from “Shortcut to Happiness”
Shortcut to Happiness is a 2003 fantasy comedy-drama film directed by Alec Baldwin and starring Anthony Hopkins, Jennifer Love Hewitt, Dan Aykroyd, Kim Cattrall, and John Cleese.
The movie follows the story of a struggling writer, Jeb (Hopkins), who is desperate to make something of himself. After a chance encounter with a mysterious stranger (Aykroyd), Jeb is given a magical typewriter that will grant him whatever he wishes for. With the help of the typewriter, Jeb is able to instantly become a renowned author, but his newfound fame and fortune comes with a price.
Jeb soon discovers that the typewriter is actually a gateway to the underworld, and he must now confront the devil himself (Cleese) in order to reclaim his soul. With the help of a beautiful woman (Hewitt) and a wise old man (Cattrall), Jeb embarks on a journey to the underworld to confront his demons and reclaim his life.
