Synopsis – What to Expect from “Shocker”
Shocker is a horror film released in 1989, directed by Wes Craven and starring Michael Murphy, Mitch Pileggi, and Heather Langenkamp.
The film begins with a young man named Jonathan Parker (Michael Murphy) being wrongfully convicted of a murder he did not commit. Jonathan is sentenced to death by electrocution, but miraculously survives the execution. The shock of the electric current has given him the power to travel through electrical systems and control electricity.
Jonathan escapes from prison and goes on the run, but is tracked down by a mysterious figure called “The Shocker” (Mitch Pileggi), who is a serial killer with the power to control electricity and is determined to find and kill Jonathan.
Jonathan teams up with his girlfriend, Alison (Heather Langenkamp), and her father, a professor of parapsychology, to try to defeat The Shocker. They discover that The Shocker is attempting to use Jonathan’s power to create a gateway to the afterlife, and must stop him before he can succeed.
The group must use all their resources to battle The Shocker and his minions, while trying to keep Jonathan safe from the police. In the end, Jonathan is able to use his newfound power to defeat The Shocker and close the gateway to the afterlife.
The film ends with Jonathan and Alison reunited, and Jonathan finally free from the false charges against him.
