Synopsis/Plot
She-Devil is a 1989 American dark comedy film directed by Susan Seidelman and starring Meryl Streep, Roseanne Barr, Ed Begley Jr., and Linda Hunt.
The film follows the story of Ruth Patchett, a downtrodden housewife who is married to a wealthy businessman, Bob Patchett. Ruth is constantly put down and treated like a doormat by her husband and his family. After learning that Bob is having an affair with a young, beautiful author named Mary Fisher, Ruth takes it upon herself to get revenge.
Ruth begins to transform into a powerful businesswoman, using her newfound confidence to take control of her life and get revenge on Bob for his infidelity. She begins to take over Bob’s businesses and investments, eventually becoming one of the most powerful women in the business world.
Along the way, Ruth meets a variety of people who help her in her quest for revenge, including a friendly lawyer and a mysterious stranger. As Ruth gets closer to achieving her goal, she must also confront her own insecurities about her appearance and her place in the world.
