Synopsis/Plot
Shall We Dance is a romantic comedy starring Richard Gere, Jennifer Lopez, and Susan Sarandon. The story follows John Clark (Gere), a middle-aged, workaholic lawyer who is stuck in a dull and mundane life. One night, on his way home from work, he notices a beautiful woman dancing in the window of a dance studio. He is instantly captivated and decides to take up ballroom dancing lessons in order to get closer to her.
John soon discovers that the studio is full of colorful characters, from the strict and demanding instructor, Paulina (Sarandon), to the quirky and enthusiastic students. His lessons open up a new world to him, and he finds himself becoming more and more passionate about dancing.
Meanwhile, John’s wife (Lopez) is suspicious of his sudden interest in ballroom dancing and begins to suspect that he is having an affair. However, as John’s dancing improves, so does his relationship with his wife. In the end, John and his wife are able to rekindle their romance and he is able to find joy in his life again.
