Synopsis – What to Expect from “Sex & Mrs. X”
Sex & Mrs. X is a romantic comedy about a middle-aged woman named Mrs. X (Linda Hamilton) who is struggling with her marriage to her husband, Henry (John Shea). She is feeling neglected and unfulfilled, so she decides to take a chance and join a dating service. After a few unsuccessful dates, she meets a charming and handsome man named Max (Craig Sheffer).
Max is a successful businessman who seems to be exactly what Mrs. X has been looking for. They start to date and soon their relationship becomes passionate and intense. Mrs. X soon finds herself in a dilemma; she has to choose between her husband and Max. She is torn between her loyalty to her husband and the excitement that Max brings to her life.
Meanwhile, Henry discovers Mrs. X’s affair and is devastated. He decides to confront Max in a fit of rage. Max, however, is not intimidated and instead challenges Henry to a fight. Henry is humiliated and decides to leave Mrs. X.
Mrs. X is now free to pursue her relationship with Max, and they soon become engaged. However, Mrs. X’s past catches up with her and she discovers that Max is not who he seems. It turns out that he is a con artist who has been using her to get money.
Mrs. X is devastated but decides to put the past behind her. She and Henry reconcile and they both learn an important lesson about love and life
