Synopsis/Plot
See You Yesterday is a 2019 science fiction-adventure film directed by Stefon Bristol and written by Bristol and Fredrica Bailey. The film stars Eden Duncan-Smith and Dante Crichlow as two high school students who use time travel to attempt to save a friend from being wrongfully killed by police.
The story follows two teens, CJ and Sebastian, who live in the Brooklyn projects. CJ is a science prodigy who dreams of attending MIT, but her brother is killed by police in a tragic accident. With the help of her best friend Sebastian, CJ builds a time machine to try and save her brother. When their attempts fail, CJ and Sebastian must use their time travel abilities to unravel a dangerous mystery and prevent a disastrous outcome.
The film explores themes of family, friendship, and the power of science to overcome obstacles. It also examines the issue of police violence and racial profiling, and how it affects communities of color.
