Synopsis/Plot
Scrooge is a 1970 British musical drama film based on Charles Dickens’ 1843 novella, A Christmas Carol. It stars Albert Finney as Ebenezer Scrooge, a miserly and ill-tempered old man who despises Christmas and all things associated with it. On Christmas Eve, Scrooge is visited by four ghosts, the Ghost of Christmas Past, the Ghost of Christmas Present, the Ghost of Christmas Yet to Come, and the Ghost of Jacob Marley, his deceased business partner. Each ghost takes him on a journey, showing him how his life has been, how it is currently, and how it could be if he does not change his ways. Through these visits, Scrooge is able to learn the true meaning of Christmas, and to find joy and love in the holiday. The film features a number of musical numbers, including “Thank You Very Much”, “I Like Life”, and “December the 25th”. With its charming musical numbers and uplifting message, Scrooge is a classic holiday film that will bring joy and cheer to all who watch it.
