Synopsis – What to Expect from “School for Scoundrels”
School for Scoundrels is a 2006 comedy film starring Billy Bob Thornton, Jon Heder, and Jacinda Barrett. The film follows the story of Roger (Heder), a meek, mild-mannered meter reader whose life is turned upside down when he enrolls in a school for scoundrels.
Roger’s life is going nowhere until he meets the mysterious Dr. P (Thornton), who runs an underground school for scoundrels. The school teaches its students how to be more assertive and confident. Roger enrolls in the school and quickly learns the tricks of the trade. He also meets fellow student Amanda (Barrett), who helps him hone his skills.
However, Roger quickly finds himself in over his head when he discovers that Dr. P’s school isn’t just a place for learning, but a place where people can become dangerous con artists. Roger is determined to prove himself, and he soon finds himself in a battle of wits with his fellow students.
The film follows Roger’s journey as he learns the ropes of the school and develops his confidence. He eventually comes to terms with his past and learns to stand up for himself. Along the way, he and Amanda fall in love, and Roger learns to embrace his inner scoundrel. In the end, Roger’s newfound skills help him overcome his adversaries and prove to the world that he isn’t the pushover he used to be.
