Synopsis/Plot
Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark is a 2019 horror film based on the children’s book series of the same name by Alvin Schwartz. It follows a group of young teens in the small town of Mill Valley, Pennsylvania, who must unravel the mystery behind a series of terrifying stories that have come to life.
The story begins when Stella (Zoe Margaret Colletti), Auggie (Gabriel Rush), and Chuck (Austin Zajur) discover a book of scary stories in an abandoned house. As they read the stories, they soon realize that the stories are coming to life and putting them in danger. They must figure out the source of the stories before it’s too late.
The teens soon discover that the stories are connected to a mysterious girl named Sarah Bellows (Kathleen Pollard), who had been locked away in the abandoned house decades ago. They soon learn that Sarah has been using the stories to exact revenge on the people who wronged her.
The teens must use their wits and courage to save their town from Sarah’s wrath. Along the way, they must confront their own fears and face the darkness within themselves.
