Synopsis – What to Expect from “Scarecrow”
Scarecrow is a 1973 American drama film directed by Jerry Schatzberg and starring Gene Hackman and Al Pacino.
The movie follows two drifters, Max (Gene Hackman) and Lion (Al Pacino), who meet while hitchhiking across the United States. Max is a Vietnam veteran, while Lion is an ex-convict. When they reach California, they decide to take a road trip together, with Max hoping to find a job and Lion hoping to start a new life.
Along the way, they meet a variety of people, from a kind-hearted truck driver named Lou (Dorothy Tristan), to a young runaway girl named Sally (Ann Wedgeworth). They also encounter a dangerous criminal, named Scarecrow (Richard Lynch), who is looking for Lion.
The two men soon find themselves in a dangerous situation, as Scarecrow and his gang are determined to track Lion down and kill him. Max and Lion must find a way to protect themselves and Sally, while also trying to stay one step ahead of Scarecrow.
The film culminates in an intense and suspenseful climax, as Max and Lion must face their fears and fight for their lives. In the end, Max and Lion must decide whether to stay together or go their separate ways.
