Synopsis – What to Expect from “Sabrina, Down Under”
Sabrina, Down Under is a 1999 family comedy adventure film directed by Jonathan Kaplan and starring Melissa Joan Hart as Sabrina Spellman, the teenage witch from the popular television series Sabrina the Teenage Witch.
The story begins when Sabrina (Hart) is sent to Australia by her aunts, Hilda and Zelda (Caroline Rhea and Beth Broderick), to help protect a magical sea creature known as the “Keeper of the Reef”. Sabrina is accompanied by her talking cat, Salem (voiced by Nick Bakay), and her boyfriend, Harvey (Nate Richert).
Once in Australia, Sabrina and her friends find themselves in a race against time to protect the Keeper of the Reef from an evil scientist, Dr. Strangemind (Martin Mull). Strangemind is determined to capture the Keeper and use its magical powers to take over the world. With the help of an eccentric Australian scientist, Professor Binkley (Ray Baker), and a friendly group of local sea creatures, Sabrina and her friends must find a way to stop Strangemind and save the Keeper of the Reef.
Along the way, Sabrina and her friends must brave the dangers of the Great Barrier Reef, face off against Strangemind’s henchmen, and discover the true power of friendship and teamwork. Along the way, Sabrina also learns a valuable lesson about the importance of protecting the environment.
