Synopsis – What to Expect from “Runaway”
Runaway is a 1984 science fiction action film starring Tom Selleck and Cynthia Rhodes. The film follows Jack R. Ramsay (Tom Selleck), a police officer in a small town in the Midwest. Jack discovers a secret government project involving the development of advanced robotic police officers.
When Jack is assigned to investigate a series of strange occurrences, he finds himself face to face with the robotic police officers, which are being used to hunt down and kill escaped criminals. As Jack investigates further, he discovers that the robots are actually being controlled by a computer virus, created by a mad scientist, Dr. Charles Luther (Gene Simmons).
