Synopsis/Plot
Run is a 2020 American thriller film directed by Aneesh Chaganty and written by Chaganty and Sev Ohanian. It stars Sarah Paulson and Kiera Allen as a mother and daughter, respectively, whose seemingly perfect life is upended when the daughter begins to suspect her mother is keeping a dark secret.
The film follows seventeen-year-old Chloe Sherman (Kiera Allen), who is homeschooled and confined to her house by her overprotective mother, Diane (Sarah Paulson). Chloe suffers from an unspecified medical condition, and Diane’s overbearing nature and strict rules are meant to protect her daughter from harm.
Chloe begins to suspect that her mother has been lying to her about her conditionand is keeping her locked up for sinister reasons. As Chloe digs deeper into the truth, she discovers that her mother is hiding a dark and dangerous past. With her freedom on the line, Chloe must race to uncover the truth before her mother’s secrets catch up to her.
