Synopsis – What to Expect from “Rooster Cogburn”
Rooster Cogburn is the classic western movie released in 1975. It stars John Wayne as the titular character, a gruff, one-eyed U.S. marshal who is hired by a young woman to help her avenge her father’s murder.
The story begins with the young woman, Eula Goodnight (Katherine Hepburn), arriving in a small frontier town in search of Rooster Cogburn. She is determined to find the man who killed her father and bring him to justice, and she is willing to pay Cogburn for his help.
Cogburn is reluctant at first, but he eventually agrees to take the job. With the help of his friend, the Texas Ranger La Boeuf (Glen Campbell), they set out on a mission to bring the murderer to justice.
Along the way, they face off against a gang of outlaws led by the notorious Lucky Ned Pepper (Robert Duvall). The trio must use all their wits and skills to outwit the gang and get to the murderer before it’s too late.
The movie culminates in a classic western showdown as Cogburn and the gang face off in a gunfight. In the end, justice is served and Cogburn is able to bring the murderer to justice. The movie ends with Cogburn and Eula parting ways, but not before Cogburn gives her a fatherly hug.
