Synopsis/Plot
Rocketman is a 2019 biographical musical fantasy film based on the life of musician Elton John. Directed by Dexter Fletcher and written by Lee Hall, the film stars Taron Egerton as John, with Jamie Bell, Richard Madden, and Bryce Dallas Howard in supporting roles.
The film follows John in his early days as a prodigy at the Royal Academy of Music through his musical partnership with Bernie Taupin. It chronicles his rise to international stardom and his battles with his inner demons, including depression, addiction, and his complex relationships with his family and friends.
The film features Elton John’s classic songs, as well as new recordings of his hits, performed by Egerton. The film also features some of John’s more obscure songs, such as “Country Comfort” and “Grey Seal”.
