Rise of the Footsoldier: Marbella is a 2019 British crime drama film directed by Zackary Adler. The film follows the rise of a British gangster, Carlton Leach (Craig Fairbrass), as he navigates the seedy underworld of Marbella, Spain.
The film opens with Carlton, a former hooligan and hard-partying man, arriving in Marbella to start a new life. He quickly meets up with an old friend, Terry (Terry Stone), who has recently made a fortune in the drug trade. Terry introduces Carlton to the world of crime, and soon enough, Carlton is in over his head.
In order to make money, Carlton gets involved in a drug smuggling operation, and soon finds himself in the middle of a turf war between two rival gangs, the Marbella Cartel and the Costa del Sol Cartel. As the violence escalates, Carlton is forced to make a choice between loyalty to his friends and loyalty to his own morals.
As the violence reaches its peak, Carlton finds himself in a situation where he must choose between his own safety and the safety of his friends. In the end, he must make a decision that will determine the fate of the entire city.
