Synopsis – What to Expect from “Rhinestone”
Rhinestone is a 1984 comedy starring Sylvester Stallone and Dolly Parton. The movie follows country singer Jake Farley (Stallone) who is a struggling musician, trying to make it big in the music business.
When Jake is offered a one million dollar deal by a shady promoter (Jack Carter) to perform a one night show with a famous country singer, he jumps at the chance. Little does he know that the country singer is none other than Dolly Parton’s character, the beautiful and talented Stella Rose.
Despite their differences in style and attitude, Jake and Stella quickly form an unlikely bond and the two embark on a road trip to perform the show. Along the way, they meet up with a host of colorful characters, including a pair of bumbling cops, a pair of country singers, and a mob of angry fans.
As the show approaches, Jake and Stella must face their differences and work together to make the show a success. In the end, they discover that the only way to make it in the music business is to be true to themselves and each other.
