The story begins with the Rebels planning a daring mission to rescue the captive Han Solo from the clutches of the evil Jabba the Hutt. Luke Skywalker, Princess Leia, and their allies succeed in rescuing Han, but soon discover that the Empire is constructing a new, more powerful Death Star. In order to prevent the Empire from using the Death Star to destroy the Rebel base, the Rebels must embark on a mission to destroy the space station.
The Rebel forces launch an attack on the Death Star, but areoutmatched by the Empire’s superior firepower. In a last-ditch effort, Luke Skywalker faces off against Darth Vader in a lightsaber duel, ultimately defeating the Sith Lord.
