Synopsis – What to Expect from “Repli-Kate”
Repli-Kate is a 2002 science fiction comedy film directed by Andrew Lazar and starring Eric McCormack, Joely Fisher, and John Cho.
The movie follows the story of Miles (Eric McCormack), a computer genius who has developed a revolutionary new technology that can make a perfect copy of any living person. When Miles discovers that his former girlfriend, Kate (Joely Fisher), has moved on and is about to marry another man, he decides to use his technology to create a perfect copy of her.
With the help of his friend, Jake (John Cho), Miles creates a perfect replica of Kate, which he names “Repli-Kate”. Repli-Kate looks and acts just like the real Kate, and Miles falls in love with her. However, Repli-Kate soon begins to display emotions and feelings of her own, which leads to a series of comedic misadventures as Miles and Jake try to keep her identity a secret.
At the same time, the real Kate begins to suspect that something is not quite right with her fiancé, and she begins to suspect that Miles is behind it. As the two Kats try to outwit each other, Miles and Jake must find a way to keep Repli-Kate a secret and get her back to the lab before the real Kate finds out.
