Synopsis/Plot
Quarantine is a 2008 American horror film directed by John Erick Dowdle and starring Jennifer Carpenter, Jay Hernandez, and Steve Harris. It follows a television reporter and her cameraman who are sent to cover a story about a local fire station’s night shift and are quarantined inside an apartment building after a virus outbreak.
The film begins with reporter Angela Vidal (Jennifer Carpenter) and her cameraman Scott (Steve Harris) arriving at the fire station to document the night shift. They follow the crew as they respond to a call at an apartment building, where they find a woman in the lobby, bloodied and disoriented. After they bring her to the hospital, the firefighters learn that she is infected with a rabies-like virus and the building is put on quarantine.
Angela and Scott are stuck inside the building with the other residents, who are slowly succumbing to the virus. As the situation worsens, the infected become increasingly violent and the survivors are forced to band together in order to survive. With the help of a mysterious stranger named George (Jay Hernandez), they must find a way to escape the building before the virus spreads and the military arrives to contain the outbreak.
