Synopsis – What to Expect from “Q”

Q is a 1982 science fiction horror film directed by Larry Cohen. It tells the story of a giant, man-eating, prehistoric reptilian creature that has been released from its ancient slumber by an archaeological dig in New York City.

The story begins with the archaeologist, Dr. Eric Leiber (Michael Moriarty), and his assistant, Dr. Ilona Hess (Deborah Raffin), discovering a mysterious and ancient artifact in a Native American burial ground. The artifact is a giant egg, and upon further examination, it is revealed that the egg contains a living creature.

The creature, dubbed “Q,” is a giant flying reptile, similar to a pterodactyl, that has been in hibernation for millions of years. Q is released from the egg and begins to terrorize New York City, eating anything that it can find.

Dr. Leiber and Dr. Hess enlist the help of a police officer, Sgt. Joe Hallenbeck (David Carradine), to help them capture Q. Sgt. Hallenbeck is skeptical at first, but soon realizes that the creature is real and is a danger to the city.

The trio attempt to capture Q with the help of the military, but their efforts are unsuccessful. Eventually, Dr. Leiber comes up with a plan to lure Q to the top of the Empire State Building, where they can use a powerful electric current to incapacitate the creature.
